Paraplegic Marine, Jake Sully, has been assigned to a position that his recently deceased brother had been extensively training for. The mission is seemingly simple: Earn the trust of the Na'vi people, and convince them to relocate their colony so that we can gain access to a precious mineral scattered throughout their lands. Once there however, Sully is torn between following his orders and protecting the new world and people with whom he feels right at home.
So here's the thing about the movie Avatar. It's good, but it's not great. I can honestly say that I don't quite understand how this is currently the highest grossing film - worldwide - of all time. Who knew the world was SO full of Sci-Fi nerds?!
This movie used some groundbreaking technology, and the film itself looked beautiful. Personally, as far as 3D effects are concerned, this was one of my very favorites that I've seen to date in the theater. But even with that going for it, I feel that there are so many more options that are better-suited for a top spot than this one. That being said, it's still worth a watch.
"Would Sandra Watch This?" YES
That's a wrap!
